ranked SLU (9-1-2,
4-1-1) went to overtime to defeat the University
of South Florida (4-5-2, 1-3-1) in a C-USA match at Robert
R. Hermann Stadium before a vocal homecoming crowd of 5,591 on
a pleasant St. Louis night. Although the Billikens dominated
play in the first half, the Bulls were able to put a shot past
sophomore goalkeeper Jeff Sackman (30) for an early lead with
just 35 seconds remaining in the half. SLU battled back with
a second half goal by freshman forward Verdad Ibisevic (9) and
then earned the victory with an overtime goal by freshman forward
Will John (13). The Billikens finished with 11 shots-on-goal. |
