Saint Louis University (9-11, 2-7) won a C-USA match against University of Southern Mississippi (10-10, 4-5) in the Bauman-Eberhardt Athletic Center (~312 paid attendance). The Billikens were able to utilize most of their bench and held a small 26-23 halftime lead. The Golden Eagles fell behind by double digits in the second half but were able to battle back to trail by 3 points with 25 s remaining in the game. SLU freshman LaKia Jones (30) blocked a 3-pt attempt by USM in the final seconds, preserving the hard-fought home victory 64-57.


Billiken senior guard Mandy Lueking (12) found it difficult to contain Golden Eagle senior gurad Angela Atterberry (12). Lueking finished the game with 13 points and 5 rebounds, while Atterberry led all scorers with 20 points but was pressured into 8 turnovers.


Golden Eagle junior guard Angela Johnson (11) pumped in 12 points, dished out 7 assists and turned over the ball 7 times. Billiken senior guard Kara Wile (10) contributed 5 assists with 4 turnovers.

Billiken junior center Bridget Beckmann (52) scored 10 points, collected 11 rebounds, gave out 4 assists, but turned over the ball 9 times against a strong defensive effort.

Billiken freshman forward Christan Shelton (14) led the team with 14 points.
