| SIUC (2-3) lost a home game against visiting Saint Louis University (4-1) before ~150 fans in the SIU arena; a small Billiken cheering section included former Carbondale resident (and CCHS DA and basketball coach) Doug Woolard (SLU Director of Athletics). The Salukis led 15-11 at the 7:50 mark in the first half but were played to a 21-21 halftime score by the emerging Billiken squad. Fine play by the Billikens coupled with a poor shooting 2nd half by SIUC gave the Billikens their 44-52 road victory. |
