| SIUC (11-8) won an easy game against visiting Drake University (9-8) before 4,068 fans in the SIU arena. The Saluki took an early lead and built a 37-21 half time advantage behind the shooting of Abel Schrader and Ricky Collum. The Bulldogs were out-played by the Salukis in the second half, which allowed many of the bench players to see valuable game time. Scoring honors went to Saluki freshman guard Kent Williams (13 points), rebound honors to Joshua Cross (9 boards), and assists honors to Brandon Mells (6). In all, SIU dominated Drake by the final score of 76-48. |
