SIUC (4-9) defeated Wichita State University (9-4) before a small but appreciative SIU arena crowd. SIUC was able to dominate with their inside play; particularly that of Courtney Smith (#14). Saluki offense ran well with Smith at point guard. Although trailing the Shockers at half-time 25-26, the Salukis mounted a fine inside game to generate a 63-55 home victory.
