Billikens (18-11, 8-7) will finish their second A10 regular season
with at least a .500 record courtesy of a 78-68 win over the
University of Richmond
Spiders (7-21, 3-12) at the Scottrade Center (reported attendance,
9,015). The Billikens built an early 38-21 halftime lead and
were ahead by 22 points in the second half before a cold shooting
spell allowed Richmond to narrow the deficit. Free throw shooting
accounted for the margin of victory. SLU was again led by sophomore
guard Kevin Lisch (26 pts, 8 rebounds, 3 assists), senior center
Ian Vouyoukas (19 pts, 8 rebounds, 3 assists), sophomore guard
Tommie Liddell (16 pts, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals), and
junior forward Luke Meyer (9 pts, 3 rebounds). The Billikens
shot 49% from the field (50% from 3-pt range) and 89% (25-28)
from the charity line. The Spiders were led by freshman center
Dan Geriot (16 pts), freshman guard Brian Morris (13 pts, 5 assists),
and junior forward Oumar Sylla (10 pts, 5 rebounds, 2 assists,
2 steals). Richmond shot 50% from the field (33% from 3-pt range)
and 67% (4-6) from the charity line. SLU had 35 rebounds (11O,
24D), 14 assists, 3 steals, 0 blocked shots, and 10 turnovers
as compared with 18 rebounds (4O, 14D), 16 assists, 3 steals,
2 blocked shots, and 7 turnovers by Richmond. |
