SLU Billikens (10-5, 0-2) lost to Duquesne University (5-8, 1-1) 73-63 at the Scottrade Center (reported attendance, 8,797). The Billikens looked as if they would take command of this game with a 38-33 halftime lead. However, Duquesne had other plans and mounted a good defensive effort in the second half to contain most of the Billiken scorers. Sophomore guard Tommie Liddell (28 pts, 8 rebounds) and junior forward Luke Meyer (17 pts, 4 rebounds) were the only bright performances. The Billikens shot 43% from the field (23% from 3-pt range) and 100% from the charity line. The Dukes were led by sophomore guard Aaron Jackson (19 pts, 5 rebounds), junior guard Reggie Jackson (13 pts, 4 assists, 7 steals), junior forward Kieron Achara (12 pts, 4 rebounds), and freshman forward Scott Grote (11 pts, 2, rebounds, 5 assists). Duquesne shot 52% from the field (36% from 3-pt range) and 73% from the charity line. SLU had 27 rebounds (11O, 16D), 10 assists, 6 steals, 5 blocked shots, and 17 turnovers as compared with 24 rebounds (7O, 17D), 15 assists, 12 steals, 0 blocked shots, and 12 turnovers by Duquesne.

Duquesne sophomore guard Aaron Jackson (1) led the Dukes with 19 points to go with 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Dukes junior guard Reggie Jackson (3) contributed 13 points, 4 assists, and 7 steals. Billiken sophomore guard and East St. Louis native Tommie Liddell (25) led all scorers with 28 points. Liddell collected 8 rebounds and 2 assists. SLU junior forward Luke Meyer (32) had another good offensive performance with 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.
