victory over East Carolina
University (8-7, 0-5) at the Savvis Center (reported inflated
attendance, 10,298). After a lackluster first half, the Billikens
took command of the game behind the efforts of junior guard Reggie
Bryant (game high 17 pts), junior center Tom Frericks (13 pts,
12 rebounds), senior forward Chris Sloan (12 pts), senior guard
Josh Fisher (11 pts, 5 rebounds, 6 assists), and junior forward
Izik Ohanon (10 pts, 5 rebounds). The Billikens shot 40% from
the field (29% from 3-pt range) and 84% from the charity line.
ECU was led by senior guard Derrick Wiley (9 pts), sophomore
guard Belton Rivers (8 pts), and senior forward Erroyl Bing (7
pts, 6 rebounds). The Pirates shot 37% from the field (22% from
3-pt range) and 83% from the charity line. SLU had 41 rebounds
(15O, 26D), 18 assists, 5 steals, and 12 turnovers as compared
with 26 rebounds (8O, 18D), 9 assists, 6 steals, and 16 turnovers
