SLU (11-5, 4-1) captured their third straight game (7 of their last 8, 8 of their last 10) of a three-game home stand with a 70-47 victory over East Carolina University (8-7, 0-5) at the Savvis Center (reported inflated attendance, 10,298). After a lackluster first half, the Billikens took command of the game behind the efforts of junior guard Reggie Bryant (game high 17 pts), junior center Tom Frericks (13 pts, 12 rebounds), senior forward Chris Sloan (12 pts), senior guard Josh Fisher (11 pts, 5 rebounds, 6 assists), and junior forward Izik Ohanon (10 pts, 5 rebounds). The Billikens shot 40% from the field (29% from 3-pt range) and 84% from the charity line. ECU was led by senior guard Derrick Wiley (9 pts), sophomore guard Belton Rivers (8 pts), and senior forward Erroyl Bing (7 pts, 6 rebounds). The Pirates shot 37% from the field (22% from 3-pt range) and 83% from the charity line. SLU had 41 rebounds (15O, 26D), 18 assists, 5 steals, and 12 turnovers as compared with 26 rebounds (8O, 18D), 9 assists, 6 steals, and 16 turnovers by ECU.


SLU junior forward Izik Ohanon (30) scored 10 points, collected 5 rebounds, and contributed 1 assist. ECU senior forward Erroyl Bing (33) scored 7 points and collected 6 rebounds.

Billikens senior forward Chris Sloan (33) had 12 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist.


Billikens junior center Tom Frericks (1) saw quite a bit of activity in the paint and under the boards. Frericks had 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 1 assist. SLU junior guard Reggie Bryant (21) led all scorers with 17 points. Bryant also had 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
