SLU led at the half 34-30 but quickly fell behind by 10 points after a 14-2 second-half run by the Huskies, who were led by Doug Wrenn and Curtis Allen with 17 points each. SLU sophomore forward Ross Varner capped the comeback with a 3-point basket with 12 seconds remaining in the game, giving the Billikens their final margin of victory. Varner finished with 12 points, 3 assists, and 1 rebound. The Billikens trailed by as many as 13 points with 8 minutes remaining in the game. |
